Richmond Main Street Initiative (RMSI) is excited to announce that is a recipient of the latest California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Clean California Local Grant Program.

Funding will be used to enhance and beautify downtown Richmond's corridor, as well as the local Community Green Space Garden located on the corner of Harbour Way and Macdonald Avenue.

The two-phase project is supported by the City of Richmond, The Reentry Success Center (RSC), and Richmond's Neighborhood Ambassador Program (NAP).

The scope of the project includes: landscaping, new benches, and litter abatement to boost community and commercial activity in the long-neglected area of the city.

"This is a project that the team at the Reentry Success Center and Richmond Main Street have long hoped for, it was just a matter of funding, and this grant made it possible." Furthermore, as a result of partnerships and projects like these ones, we are able to advance equity in society, providing a sense of purpose, belonging, and personal well-being." — Andrea Portillo-Knowles, Richmond Main Street Executive Director
