We're excited to invite our small or diverse business owners to MCE's 5th Annual Certify & Amplify Workshop to help you certify in the California Public Utilities Commission's (CPUC) Supplier Diversity program and amplify your business opportunities throughout the state. This year we’ll also have a speaker focusing specifically on how to get certified as a small business.

General Order (GO) 156 - commonly referred to as “Supplier Diversity” - is a statewide program that encourages utilities to prioritize contracts and subcontracts from businesses that meet diversity qualifications. To qualify, businesses must be 51% woman-owned, minority-owned, LGBTQ-owned, or disability-owned enterprises. After being certified as a diverse supplier, qualified businesses are listed in the CPUC’s Clearinghouse, which utilities can then access for their contracting needs and to meet their contracting quotas.

Speakers

Stephanie Green oversees the General Order 156 Supplier Diversity Program in the CPUC’s Executive Division. In addition she supervises the Business and Community Outreach team and serves as the Commission's Tribal Liaison. Stephanie came to the CPUC from the private sector industries of telecommunications and technology and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

Dr. Victor Baker, MBA, serves as the President and CPO of EquitiFy, a coaching, consulting, and training company that offers Leadership, Organizational Development, and DEIBA services to promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work ecosystem while maximizing performance. Vic has personally gone through the certification process for his business and has helped dozens of others through the process. Before founding EquitiFy, he worked for over 25 years in the utility industry, including at SDGE and PG&E, focusing partially on supplier diversity.

Wayne Gross is a Business Outreach Liaison for the Office of Small Business and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) Services at California’s Department of General Services, which is tasked with certifying all small businesses and DVBEs in the state. He has over forty years of customer service experience starting from his early days as a USAF Captain and holds a Master’s degree in Business Management.
