Congressional Medal for Richmond Rosies

Richmond Rosies Awarded Congressional Medal
Congratulations are due for Richmond's Rosie the Riveter Trust, which is being honored with a Congressional Gold Medal on April 10, 2024, in Washington, D.C. The ceremony will be led by Speaker of the House, Congressman Mike Johnson.
Local Rosies Phyllis Gould, who worked as a journeyman welder, and Mae Krier, who worked as a riveter, will join hundreds of Rosies to establish March 21st as National Rosie the Riveter Day. This moment has been a long work in progress for Mae and Phyllis, who began campaigning for national recognition for all Rosies after meeting at the 2016 American Rosie the Riveter Association convention in Richmond.
