Richmond E-Bike Sharing Program Launches

Richmond cycling enthusiasts rejoice! The city has launched a strategic partnership with Today Bikes, offering electric bicycles to major areas in the community in need of reliable transportation. The program officially launches today, with opening remarks from Mayor Eduardo Martinez.
Green and Accessible Transportation
Convenient urban mobility has been a longstanding challenge for residents. The city's last bike-share partnership with Bolt Mobility abruptly ended in 2022.
Today Bikes' goal is to deploy 300 electric bikes in 20 stations across the community. These locations will include downtown Richmond, residential neighborhoods, and historic landmarks.
What Cyclists Can Expect
Today Bike's innovative electric bikes are designed to be easy to use, comfortable, and sustainable — delivering much less carbon emissions than gas vehicles. Riders also contribute to decongesting roads and benefit from the scenic views Richmond has to offer.
Each electric bike is equipped with the latest safety technology as well — GPS tracking and a mobile app ensure a seamless experience. Visit this page for a step-by-step guide on getting started.
"We are excited to partner with the city of Richmond to bring this E-Bike Share System to life," said David Touwsma, Co-Founder of Today Bikes. "This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to provide sustainable and accessible transportation options to communities. We believe that our E-Bike Share System will not only contribute to reducing carbon emissions but also promote a healthier and more active lifestyle."
