Pochys South Indian Street Food Launches

Are you a fan of South Indian cuisine? You're in luck — Pochys, a flavorful fast-casual street food eatery is open for business on Berkeley's Camelia Street.
The menu includes butter masala rolls packed with creamy gravy and savory mix-ins, fried rice with Gobi Manchurian, Tenali Kura, and Pav Bhaji. Pochys also offers a refreshing line of drinks like a mango milkshake and lime juice.
How It Started
Two years ago, Pochys CEO Aravind Pochiraju was not planning on starting a restaurant. An education technology entrepreneur and automobile racing enthusiast by day, cooking began simply as a hobby for him. However, word began to spread among his friends—many of whom had been longing for an authentic taste of home.
"In the U.S., it's hard to find good Indian food," much less regional-specific dishes, says Aravind. "None of them taste like the food back home."
He decided to go all-in in 2022, modeling his business after big-name brands like Chipotle and Starbucks.

During this month's soft opening, the restaurant is open for takeout and outdoor seating. Indoor seating is coming soon, along with availability for catering and events.
A grand opening is planned in May (stay tuned for details).
